做课：跟UABB进村做点儿什么！

 前言 | PREFACE 

2017深港城市\建筑双城双年展（深圳）将在南头古城举行。作为展览公共教育项目“深双学堂”本届第一个活动，我们发起第一堂课：“做课：跟UABB进村做点儿什么！” —— 南头古城居民需求调研及创新实践课程，邀请专业者和城中村关注者参与，跟随双年展进入南头古城，倾听了解南头古城居民的需求，诊断南头古城存在的问题，评估双年展对古城的影响，鼓励学员提出创新解决方案并支持学员付诸实施。

这个课程旨在提供一个平台让更多的专业者，尤其是年轻人，运用自己的所知所学，以居民为用户／客户／合作伙伴的方式，帮助南头古城解决实际问题，顺应城中村本来的自下而上成长模式，减缓通常自上而下设计模式给城中村带来的可能冲击。课程倡导以用户为导向解决问题的设计思维，通过调研需求-定义要解决的问题-创新方案-原型测试-分享展示-反馈改进等环节，培养用设计思维解决城市问题的能力，并借此探索南头古城未来发展方向及城中村改造的新方式，为城市更新提供可能的方向及样本。

参与者提交的调研报告及创新实践的过程和结果，都有机会在今年12月举行的深双展出。

2017 Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture (Shenzhen) will be held in the Nantou Old Town. As the first public education event of the exhibition, we launch the first course: "UABB Do Course at Urban Village" - Nantou Research and Creative Practice Class. We invite all kinds of professionals and followers of urban village to participate in the course. Go into the Nantou Old Town with the Biennale, listen and understand residents' need, diagnose problems of the "village" and assess the impact of the Biennale on the community. After identifying problems, we encourage and support students of the course to come up with innovative solutions and proceed to implement.

This course aims to provide a platform for more professionals, especially young people to use their knowledge, in ways of treating residents as user / client / partner to help Nantou Old Town solve problems, conforming to the bottom-up growth model of urban village, reducing the possible impact of top-down design pattern to urban village. The course advocates user-oriented problem-solving design thinking, through research - define the problem to be solved - innovative solution - prototype test - sharing - feedback, etc, the course aims to cultivate abilities of using design thinking to solve urban problems. Through this course we also want to explore the future direction of Nantou Old Town and new forms of transformation of urban village, providing possible direction and samples for urban renewal. 

Participants' research reports and innovative practices will have opportunities to be presented at the Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture (Shenzhen) in December this year.

课程计划分为五个阶段：

发布招募邀请参与者参与本次计划。点击文末 阅读原文 即可报名，报名的个人及团队需于5月27日前提交报名申请。经过对报名者的筛选，主办方将在一周后公布入选团队结果。

Publish recruitment and invite participants. Please hit the  Read More  button at the end of this page to apply. Applicants are required to submit their application by May 27th. After the screening of the applicants, the organizers will announce result in a week.

2. 调研 | Research

2017年6月1日 - 2017年8月1日

June 1, 2017 - August 1, 2017

参与者进入到南头古城进行调研，充分了解居民（包括住户、商户、工厂、工人、房东、社区及股份公司、文保单位、游客）的需求特别是痛点（比方室内空间挤迫需优化、市政环卫导示及环境景观改进、室内／门面／招牌／遮阳蓬设计、主街仿古披檐漏水脱落隐患解除、社区交往或文化不足、小朋友缺乏玩耍场地或看管辅导……），诊断南头古城存在问题，确定符合真正需求、能够有针对性解决问题的思路和方案，并提交调研报告。

Participants enter Nantou Old Town to do research to fully understand needs of residents (including tenants, businesses owners, factories, workers, landlords, community and stock companies, culture institutes, visitors), especially their "paint spot" (most needed demand) , such as lack of living space, need of improvement of sanitation and environment,  indoor / facade / signs / awning design, main street antique eaves leaking, lack of community communication and community culture,  lack of space for children playing and children care and counseling, etc.). Participants are expected to diagnose problems of Nantou Old Town, design innovative solutions, and submit research reports.

3. 实践 | Implementation 

2017年8月1日 - 2017年10月15日

August 1, 2017 - October 15, 2017

与居民充分沟通，在任务及解决方案取得共识、合作关系明确后可进入实施；如需参展、或需要获得展览方实施补贴者，可向活动主办方提出申请，由主办方通过策展人及专家评审后反馈结果。

After fully communicate with residents, and reach a consensus in terms of the creative solution, participants can proceed to implement. If participants want to present their works in the Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture (Shenzhen), or if they need subsidy for implementation, they can apply to the organizers. After review by curators and experts, participants will be able to get subsidy or take part in the exhibition. 

4. 研讨课与工作坊 | Seminars & Workshops

2017年6月1日- 2017年10月15日

在主要调研和实施阶段（第2、第3阶段期间）会为参与者提供导师研讨课程和工作坊，分享交流调研方法、古城历史、微更新相关案例及城中村话题，并与参与者互动解答相关疑问，提供专业指导。

课程初步安排：

2.《如何进村与人沟通：社会调研方法工作坊》拟请导师：马立安（初定：6月10日）

3.《毒瘤与奶娘：城中村作用评估研讨》拟请导师：李津逵（初定：6月17日）

4.《积小改成大变：城市战术与微更新工作坊》拟请导师：何志森（初定：6月24日）

5.《做课》中期点评（初定：7月15日）

6.《做课》终期点评（初定：8月19日）

7.《做课》实施效果评选（初定：2018年2月）

In the research and implementation phase (phase 2 and phase 3), we will provide participants with mentor seminars and workshops to share and exchange research methods, history of Nantou Old Town, cases of micro-renewal and other topics of urban village. Participants will be able to interact with mentors, ask questions and obtain professional guidance.

5. 展览 | Exhibition

参与者调研的过程及成果将通过评选和策展后，以文字和多媒体的形式在2017深双展出。

After review and curation, the process and results of the participants' research will be presented at the 2017 Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture (Shenzhen) in the form of text or multimedia.

项目资源和支持

1. 主办方在整个项目执行的过程中，全程提供信息、学术和资源的协助；

3. 参与者可申请深双学堂奖学金，奖学金会根据申请及中期点评情况发放，奖学金人民币5,000-30,000，分三个等级。

4. 参与者可申请实施补贴，补贴会根据申请、终期点评情况发放，补贴人民币5,000-30,000不等。对于参与者提出的属于公共领域的优秀改进方案，主办方也会协助申请地方政府资金支持来实施。

5. 主办方将邀请公众及专家组成评审团对项目实施效果进行评审和奖励。

6. 活动开放欢迎企业以各种资源赞助，赞助回报包括成果知识分享、冠名奖项及宣传等。

3. Participants can apply for UABB School Scholarship. Scholarships will be paid on the basis of application and mid-term reviews. Scholarships are in the range of RMB 5,000 to 30,000.

4.Participants can apply for implementation subsidies. Subsidies will be paid on the basis of application and mid-term reviews. Subsidies are in the range of RMB 5,000 to 30,000. For creative solutions that aim at improving public areas, the organizer will assist participants to apply for local government funds to support implementation.

5. The organizers will invite the public and experts to form a jury to evaluate the effectiveness of the project implementation and give reward.

6. This project is open to enterprises sponsorship. Sponsorship returns include sharing of knowledge and research results, titling awards and publicity.

INTERLLECTUAL PROPERTY AND CONFIDENTIALITY

设计著作权归参与者所有，参与者应保证其设计具有原创性，并授权组委会，在活动期间使用其所提供的有关文字、图片、图纸及影像档案等资料，用于以宣传推介为目的所进行的出版、信息发布、媒体宣传、纪念品制作等项目中，并授权组委会在本次展览之后可继续用于双年展相关展示，出版，表演，影视制作及播放或其他非商业类专项活动中。

The copyright of the design belongs to the participants unless otherwise specified. Participants shall ensure originality of its design and take legal responsibilities where its design infringes intellectual property rights of third party, the committee does not share any joint liabilities. Participants hereby authorizes UABB committee to use exhibit text, pictures, video files and other materials as designated and provided by Party B for the purpose of promotion of this project including publication, news announcement, media production and souvenirs production during the period of organizing of this Exhibition; and agrees and authorizes committee that the exhibits and related materials for this exhibition can still be used in UABB’s exhibitions, publications, performances, video productions and broadcasting or other non-commercial activities.

2017 深港城市\建筑双城双年展主题为“城市共生（Cities, Grow in Difference）”，由策展人、评论家侯瀚如，URBANUS都市实践创建合伙人、建筑师刘晓都、孟岩（按姓氏拼音排序）共同策展，计划于2017年12月15日在主展场深圳南头古城开幕，同时还将有罗湖、盐田、光明等城中村实现分展场与主展场形成多区联动与互补。

Themed on “Cities, Grow in Difference”, the Seventh Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture (Shenzhen) (shorted as UABB) will be jointly curated by Hou Hanrou, the curator and critic, Liu Xiaodu and Meng Yan, both the founding partner of URBANUS and architect. UABB 2017 will open on Dec 15, 2017 at its main venue Nantou Old Town with the support and complement of the sub-venues set up in the urban villages in Luohu, Yantian and Guangming.
